My name is Kate and I have been practising yoga for 2 decades and teaching since 2014.
I began by doing Ashtanga and teen classes in London and, since moving back to Berkshire, have been teaching more pre and postnatal and kids classes.
Currently I offer classes to children aged 2-18 in local schools, colleges and preschools, ensuring each class includes fun, calming techniques and incorporates the curriculum where possible. My aim is to give young children and teens a fun introduction to self-care, breathwork, meditation, mindfulness and movement. I wish I had it in my toolbox when I was younger!
Time is precious and my classes are designed to make the most of YOUR time.
In the current timetable, I offer an intermediate dynamic, flow-based practice designed as a one-stop-shop for aching bodies craving a good stretch & workout whilst alleviating students’ stressed-out, frazzled minds.
I also offer a gentler paced class for beginners to tune in to their bodies, explore the fundamentals of yoga and slowly build resilience and strength.
In all classes, I always offer modifications so you can tune in to what is best for you at any given moment and up your practices in kramas (stages). I encourage working with sensitivity and sensibility, always staying within your own ability and comfort zone, though we will explore your edges.
Recently I trained in chair yoga to make my classes accessible to all and to provide corporates with an outlet during lockdown. I have a very real approach to teaching yoga. My aim is to help my students experience grace and acceptance in the moment and work with where they are.
A real highlight for me over lockdown has been tailored 1:1 work. Offering people space to learn and heal, a pause in their lives, getting to know more about themselves and give them greater awareness through heir practice on the mat.
SkelYoga cannot promise to fix it all, but I can promise my class will allow you to move with awareness of yourself, go inward and connect to the experience of your breath and find detailed alignment cues for your body in each pose.
The practice of yoga will make you feel physically invigorated and mentally calm.
I am forever learning and always striving to improve. My best teachers are you, my students, showing up with your unique needs every single session.
